California, Winterhaven Feb 16 - 28, 2015

Here we are back at Pilot Knob Resort Near Winterhaven, CA for another 10 days.

Pilot Knob RV Resort, near Winterhaven, CA

Our friends Jan and Bruce Tooth are here in the park with us.  They are from Manitoba, Canada.

Kay and the dogs and Bruce Tooth.  The last time we saw the Tooth's was up in Northern Minnesota.  They drove from their home near Winnipeg, Canada to International Falls, MN just to have dinner with us.  Their trip was about 600 miles.

John and Terry Edwards, our kayak friends.  What great smiles.

We took a trip with Orin and Francine out in the country to a date farm.  In this field they are growing 5 different  kinds of lettuce.  When  they harvest it, they have a machine that cuts it and bags it all together, ready for the store shelves.

Don't ask me what kinds they are.  I have no idea.

Here they are harvesting the regular leaf lettuce.  It sure is back breaking work.

We stopped at this museum.  It looked like a old junk yard at first, but on second look it was an old junk yard.

Francine and I are checking out this old 1932 ford pickup.

Orin and Marty

Kay trying to decide which one to buy.

The owner of the museum said that each one of the old cars and trucks he drove into the place him self.

That is some line up.

The owner has done a lot of work on some of the trucks and cars, he uses many of them in local parades.

Orin wanted to buy this 1924 Fordson Tractor-Gleener Combine.

This is the truck Kay and I want to buy.  Do you think it would pull our camper?

John and Terry and Kay and I drove up to Senators Wash to check out the kayaking possibilities.

Senators Wash looking at the dam side of the lake.

John having a look at the lake.  The water level is very low.

Terry and Kay walking the dogs.

We drove up to Fisher's Landing to check out the kayak launch point.  We did not put in because the wind was blowing too hard.  There was even white caps on the river, that is not good for kayaking.

This is my new friend I met at the campground.  His name is Ieatyoufast.

I took Maxwell and Zoe to the sand dunes west of the Pilot Knob Campground so they could play in the sand.

Kay and I along with Mark and Mary drove to the Mexican Border at San Luis.  We walked from the parking lot on the US side.  Marty  is getting his feet done before his hair cut.

Mark getting his hair cut.  The cost here is only $5.00.

This beautiful water fountain is across the street from the restaurant in old town Yuma.

Kay and I drove down to old town Yuma to have lunch at Da Boyz Italian Cuisine restaurant.
