Colorado - July 6th - Last day at St Vrain

We had a lot of fun in the pond at Saint Vrain our last day before heading to Gunnison area.  The dogs hadn't been on the kayaks for quite a while.  Marty got out the platforms he built and off we went.

St. Vrain State Park, Colorado

Zoe really loves riding on the kayak with Marty.  She's always ready to go.
She's spotted the little fish on the edge of the pond.  How exciting!!
Look Max, see them over there.  Let's go get them.
Come on Max you can do it!
Zoe's never been all that fond of the water and would usually only get her feet wet.
Today she was having a great time trying to get to the little fish.

I think they would have stayed in the water all day if we would have let them.
Hey, let's jump in the boat and get Papa all wet too.

Now that's a load of kayaks.  Marty getting ready to leave for Gunnison the next day.

Colorado, Golden July 5th

Grandma had to get some play time in with her little girls before we left for Blue Mesa outside of Gunnison.  The pictures below were taken in Paul and Deana's back yard.  Right now it seems the girls favorite game is to roll play as Peter Pan, Wendy and Tinker Bell oh ya, can't forget Captain Hook.

Colorado - June 26 - July 2, 2011

These pictures are from our stay at St. Vrain State Park, near Longmont, CO.
It is time for our 14 year old grand daugther, Jessica's, to have four of her friends stay with us for 5 days of Summer camp season II.

This is the KAMMJ Gang, from left to right.  Kiley - Annelise - Jessica - Mia - Madison

This is the camp site sitting on the edge of the lake.

This is the view we had right outside out door.

Kiley and Annelise watching two of the other girls in the kayaks.

Kiley - Madison - Annelise - Jessica in the kayaks.  Mia took this picture.

Everyone looking back to see where Mia is.  The girls sure did enjoy the kayaks.
We had 6 kayaks at the lake for them, that way they all could go out at the same time.
Thanks to our friends who loaned us their kayaks, Joan Grand and Dick and Bonnie Kotrba.

Madison and Mia

Grandma Kay doing what she did for 5 days.  Cook and do dishes.
She did fix some awesome meals for the girls.

This is known as picture on picture,  Jessica and Madison

Mia fixing a braid in Kiley's hair.  She did one for each of the girls.
They got into my box of beads, and had a blast.
Mia trying her luck at fishing.  She did get some of the small sun fish.
Madison and Kiley.  I think Kiley was pooped from getting up to see the sun rise.

Mia and Madison enjoying the kayaks.  For being their first time in kayaks, Jessica's friends did very well.  It was fun just watching all five of the girls in them at the same time.

Mia in the kayak, watching Madison try and fish.
Jessica trying her hand at playing Grandpa's Native American Flute.  She was very good at it.
All the girls tried playing them, and they all did surprisingly well.

Grandpa and Kiley playing a duet on the flutes.
This is the girls tent after a 70 MPH micro burst came through the camp ground.  It broke 5 of the spars in the tent.  Grandma and I spent a few hours driving around trying to find new spars.   The rain came down quit hard and got a lot of the stuff wet.  All the girls slept in the camper that night.
This was the scene where the girls were trying to dry out their stuff that got wet.

Five very good friends watching the sun set on their last night of the 5 day outing.  We enjoyed all the girls very much.  Jessica have some awesome friends.  We would do this trip again in a heart beat.  Thank you Jessica for sharing your friends with Grandma and Grandpa.
