South Dakota Spearfish Aug 27 - 28 , 2015

An overnight stay at the Elkhorn Ridge RV Resort, near Spearfish, SD.  The park was very clean with paved roads through out and concrete pads for the sites.  It was also only 7 miles from Deadwood.  Kay and I did make a trip down there in the afternoon.  After we got back to the camper, we headed for the hot tub.  That was the first time since April we had a chance to use one.  Sure did feel good on my knee.

Our campsite.

A view down the road in the campground.  We really liked this campground.  Wish we could have stayed here for more than one night.

North Dakota Medora Aug 22 - 27, 2015

Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park.  This will be our last stop in North Dakota.  The national park is divided into two sections, the northern park and southern park.  We did go to both of them while we were here.  All in all it has been a great state to visit.

The town of Medora and Theodore Roosevelt National Park, North Dakota.

Our campsite under the big cottonwood trees at Medora, North Dakota.  We had a nice large site.

National Park sign for the southern entrance.

Black tailed prairie dogs, there were hundreds of them in the park.

All the dogs were very fat.

Views from our drive through the south section of the park

Kay got out of the truck to try and get the horses as they headed for the river.

No place to kayak, the Little Missouri River is here but got more shallow as each day went on.

We came across a herd of wild horses.  This mare sure was a good looking horse.

This one looked like it could be a young one.

We liked the background setting for this picture.

Our wild animals.

We found a small heard of Bison

Kay looking for her flowers.  There were not too many in the park this time of the year.

Here is the herd of bison we found in the northern park.

He looked at us like he means business.

After the steak dinner before the Medora Musical, Kay wanted to take my picture by this old buggy.

Medora Musical, I took this picture from the top of the walkway.  Our seats were in the second row from the bottom center stage.  It was well worth the money for the show.  We both had a very good time.

The Burning Hills Singers.  There were twelve of them.

Josh McFerren did an awesome job on the fiddle.

Nice looking stage coach.  Can't believe they got it on the stage.

They had all the kids from the audience come up on stage to get a free bottle of Mister Bubbles.  The guy that invented it is the one that started the Medora Musical.  The tall girl, Maddie, with the pink shirt is standing next to her little sister, Carsyn, who we met on the bus ride up to the musical.  Carsyn is almost 4 and was something else.  Both girls were a pleasure to meet.

Black Bear Acrobatic Group from China put on a very good show.  The youngest one was just seven years old, and was the star of the show.

This guy is balancing a 32 lb. porcelain pot in his head.

A Theodore Roosevelt Salute to Medora by Joe Wiegand.  Joe is the world's premiere Theodore Roosevelt impersonator.  What a wonderful performance he put on.  I highly recommend every one go to this while they are in Medora.
