North Dakota Fort Ransom July 24 - 28, 2015

Fort Ransom State Park, ND is located in the Sheyenne River Valley near the little town of Fort Ransom.

Our campsite was in a very nice open site.

Since I could not get into my kayak,  Kay made the trip down the Sheyenne River by herself. This is her at the launch point.

The river was a bit muddy because of all the rain in this area.

Believe it or not, this is a ski lift out in the middle of North Dakota.

Just around the corner from the take-out point is the dam.

As I was waiting for Kay to reach the take-out, I spotted this little striped gofer.

Watching him jump up and grab the seed pods to eat, is what made me take the pictures of him.

Corn looked very good here.

The wheat also looked very good.  Almost ready to harvest.

The bean crop was also good.

This was an interesting flower pot arrangement.  That's a lot of petunias.

We drove down many miles of dirt roads while we were at this campground.  There were several scenic byways we had to check out.

One evening we went out to The Sheyenne Valley Speedway dirt track to watch the races. It was located in a little town of Lisbon, ND

The wind was not in out favor.  The cars made a lot of dust, and it all blew back on us in the stands.

We saw this mom and her two babies in a field by the campground on our way home.

We like to drive around the local area at each of our camping stops.  This shows what rural ND looks like.

Minnesota, Sebeka July 15 - 24, 2015

10 days of fun and games at my little brother's home in Sebeka, MN

Jim has a large lawn beside his home where we parked the truck and camper.

This is what I call camping for free.

This is the sign we put out in front of the camper so people know who lives here.

One evening Jim and Bev and Marty and Kay went to a small town north of Sebeka for a consert in the park.  Bev sitting out front by herself.  Behind her is Donna talking to Jim.  Marty sitting next to David, Donna's better half. and on the end is Bernice, another one of Bev's sisters.

There are a lot of turkeys in this area.  Kay got this one way across the field behind Jim home.  Her camera has a 30X zoom and she had it all the way opened.

The apple trees in the back yard are doing very well.  Too bad we had to leave before they were ready to pick.  We still have apple pie filling in the freezer from last year.  Guess we will have to cook one them soon.
