Michigan, Thompson Sept 2 - 6

Driftwood Shores Campground in Thompson is our first stop in Michigan.  The weather did not corporate with us and kayaking, so we did a lot of touring the area.
Thompson, Michigan
Schoolcraft County Historical Water Tower in Manistique, MI
Hiking to Munising Falls located in Pictured Rocks National Park.
Miners Falls
This is a happy Kay
Some wild berries along the path.
We hiked 1.2 miles to see Miners Falls.  It was worth the walk.
This shot is Miners Castle in Pictured Rocks Park.  It is located on the north shore of the upper Peninsula of Michigan. The water of Lake Superior was so clear.
Kay loves butterflies
She also loves bees.

Michigan Apples

Birch trees
We took a drive through Seney National Wildlife Refuge.  It was a very peaceful place.
More of the refuge.
Our campsite at Driftwood Shores
A small stream that runs into Lake Michigan near our campground.
This sculpture is behind our camper.  I really like it.
Manistique East Breakwater Light
The view of Lake Michigan out the back window of the camper.
