Colorado, Westminster Sept 26-Nov 5

Camping at the Westminster Elk Lodge #2227  Our friends John and Bunny got us into this campground as guests.  John is a member of the Elks, and is my sponsor to become a member.  We were only going to stay here for a month, but the last part of the Elks induction is on the 4th of Nov.,  so we decided to stay for that.  As an Elk member, we can stay at Elks Lodges throughout this great country.   The campground is only 2.4 miles from our son Trevor, and about 8 miles from Paul.

This picture was taken the first night we were back in town.  We all went to Tia Marie's for dinner.

This is our site up on the hill behind the Elks Lodge.  Was not a bad place to spend out time in the Denver area.

One of our driving tours around the beautiful state of Colorado.  The following are some of the mountain pictures we took.

Now this was an unexpected sight we found on our drive.  The bull moose, and cow moose and the baby moose.  This made the whole trip worth the drive.

This bull moose looks to be quite young.

It was hard to tell which was the mom and which was the baby.  The baby is in front of the mom.

Now this was interesting to watch.  The baby nursing, each time it wanted more milk it would push up on the mom and by doing this mom would have her back legs clear off  the ground.  Time to wean the baby.

The road down off the pass into Georgetown.

This mountain sheep was just standing alongside of the road, waiting for us to take her picture.

We were a little late for the colors this year but did find some color.

Gabby and her teacher,  Gabby got several achievement awards for  her school work.

Riley also got an award for her achievement in school work.

We also went to Riley's gymnastics meet.

Kay and I drove up to Cripple Creek to find more of the Colorado colors.  They were quite sparse, we were too late to get really great pictures.

I took this picture for our son Trevor.  He loves to fly fish, and he was at home working.  Guess I should not tempt him so much.

Kay loves to take pictures of colored leaves.

Kay and I went up to Noreen's for another night of poker.  This time I lost big and Bob was the big winner.

Marty - Kay - Bunny - John at Texas Road House for dinner.

Jessica turned 18.  It is hard to believe that she is that old.

Kile  sure has turned out to be a handsome young man.

Grandpa told Jessica she could get some money out of his wallet, she asked if she could pick what she wanted.

Steven Derr, our oldest grandson, he is soon to turn 21.

I met my sister Noreen and Bob at Wings and Things for lunch one day.  Tannyce,  Noreen's grand daughter is a bartender there.  She was nice and bought me a coke.

Trevor Derr at his 40th Birthday.  October and November are full of birthdays for our family.

We picked up Mike and Laury at the Scottsbluff airport.  Nice little plane he has.

Somewhere up in the Colorado mountains Kay took this picture of a small waterfall.

We saw a whole heard of Elk along the road, but by the time we got stopped they were headed back up into the woods.  Did manage to get a picture of one of them though.
