Colorado - July 15th - July 20th - Blue Mesa

Blue Mesa resort is one of our favorite places to visit.  We met some great people and there is a lot to do here.  The time just flew by too fast.

Terry & John Edwards. They are from Kansas City, Missouri No relation to Kay.
We really enjoyed kayaking with them. We went almost every day. What a great couple.
We hope to join up with them again someday.

Gail & Gregg Freeman are another kayaking couple we met at the campground.  We made one trip down the river with them.

We went to the rodeo in Gunnison, with John and Terry.
We had a very nice time. It had been a long time since we went to a rodeo.

John and Marty loading the kayaks on Marty's truck for another run down the Gunnison River.

The water was very high on the Gunnison River.  This is some of the debris that the water brought down the river.

One of the many rainbow trout I got fishing from the kayak.  What a wonderful day that was.
This is another trip down the river from the bridge.  I tried to stop and look at one of the channels.  Stupid me, did not stop in time, and the river pushed me up against some logs.  I spent the next 15 min. getting the kayak on the bank and dumping the water out of it.  John is making sure it did not slip back into the river.  Another great adventure on the Gunnison River, with good friends.
Some of the rafters that came down the river.

What more do you want for a beautiful river
Loading up John's truck, after a good run down the river.

Cleaning the fish at the National campground cleaning station.  This was a very nice one.

We took a drive north of Crested Butt, CO to see some of the wild flowers.
This is some of the best of Colorado.

We drove as far as the snow would let us.  Kay and the dogs are walk, or should I say crawling on the snow where the road should be.

Marty and Max at the end of the snow.

The next few pictures are of some of the wild flowers we found.
