Colorado - June 26 - July 2, 2011

These pictures are from our stay at St. Vrain State Park, near Longmont, CO.
It is time for our 14 year old grand daugther, Jessica's, to have four of her friends stay with us for 5 days of Summer camp season II.

This is the KAMMJ Gang, from left to right.  Kiley - Annelise - Jessica - Mia - Madison

This is the camp site sitting on the edge of the lake.

This is the view we had right outside out door.

Kiley and Annelise watching two of the other girls in the kayaks.

Kiley - Madison - Annelise - Jessica in the kayaks.  Mia took this picture.

Everyone looking back to see where Mia is.  The girls sure did enjoy the kayaks.
We had 6 kayaks at the lake for them, that way they all could go out at the same time.
Thanks to our friends who loaned us their kayaks, Joan Grand and Dick and Bonnie Kotrba.

Madison and Mia

Grandma Kay doing what she did for 5 days.  Cook and do dishes.
She did fix some awesome meals for the girls.

This is known as picture on picture,  Jessica and Madison

Mia fixing a braid in Kiley's hair.  She did one for each of the girls.
They got into my box of beads, and had a blast.
Mia trying her luck at fishing.  She did get some of the small sun fish.
Madison and Kiley.  I think Kiley was pooped from getting up to see the sun rise.
The K-A-M-M-J gang at the beach.

Mia and Madison enjoying the kayaks.  For being their first time in kayaks, Jessica's friends did very well.  It was fun just watching all five of the girls in them at the same time.

Mia in the kayak, watching Madison try and fish.
Jessica trying her hand at playing Grandpa's Native American Flute.  She was very good at it.
All the girls tried playing them, and they all did surprisingly well.

Grandpa and Kiley playing a duet on the flutes.
This is the girls tent after a 70 MPH micro burst came through the camp ground.  It broke 5 of the spars in the tent.  Grandma and I spent a few hours driving around trying to find new spars.   The rain came down quit hard and got a lot of the stuff wet.  All the girls slept in the camper that night.
This was the scene where the girls were trying to dry out their stuff that got wet.

Five very good friends watching the sun set on their last night of the 5 day outing.  We enjoyed all the girls very much.  Jessica have some awesome friends.  We would do this trip again in a heart beat.  Thank you Jessica for sharing your friends with Grandma and Grandpa.
