Colorado, Wheat Ridge Apr 30-June 7

We finaly made it back home to Wheat Ridge, CO.  We spent 5 weeks at a local campground to near our Colorado Grand kids.  This gave us time to get all our doctors and dentist stuff done.  June is also time to get new plates on the truck.  We spent a lot of time going through the camper and took out a lot of stuff that we have not used in a long time.  These things added up to a lot of weight.   We were so busy that time sure did go fast.

Kay and her brother Mike.  Their brother Dan and his wfe Kathy were in town and we had a BBQ at Mike and Laury's.  Sure was good to see them all.
On the left is Jen who is James new bride, and Sarah.
I love this picture of  Kay's brother Dan.  The smile says it all and then some.

The Master Chef Mike
Kerrick with a eye on his grandpa cooking. Kerrick is Sarah and Johnny's son.
Sunset from Mike and Laury's deck.  It is so peaceful out there in Parker.
Kay and her two good friends.  Paula in the middle and Marlyce at the end.  These three have been friends for over thirty years.
Kay sitting in Marlyce's kitchen. Ain't she so beautiful?
Paula making her and Jeff's pizza.
That is a good looking pizza.  Ken cooked them on his outside grill on a flat stone.
They turned out awesome.
Ken Drybread, Marlyce's other half.  He has taken up the hobby of making musical instruments.
Some of Kens work in progress.   He is very good at it.
Walking the dogs in the creek near our campground in Wheat Ridge.
Maxwell loves to ride in his basket around the campground and down the greenbelt looking for rabbits.  Zoe rides in the basket on Kay's bike.
This is one of the rabbits that terrorized the dogs at the campground.  There must have been hundreds of them running around in the campground.  They were so tame you could walk right up to them before they ran off.  A couple of times Max and Zoe escaped and did they ever have fun chasing the bunnies.

The blues Boys.
This is Tina's dad Richard Root.
Zoe wishing she could eat with Kile.
Kay and I and the dogs took a trip up to Dillon Reservoir to do some kayaking.  Turned out to be too windy.  We did drive all the way around the lake though.
Max and Zoe love the water.
A view of the Colorado Mountains.  I love them.
Art and Margie Hanson.  Last year when my truck gave me a hard time in Greeley, Art drove all the way up to pick up my camper and take it back home to Wheat Ridge.  Kay and I ran out of time to thank him that year.  So we took them out to dinner and got tickets to go see Darren Skanson and Greg Hansen  play at Nissie's in Lafayette, CO.  This was the first time they had ever heard them play.  Margie had a smile the whole night.

If you ever have a chance to go hear him play, do so.  He is very good and so is Greg Hansen.  Together they make some beautiful music.  We've been fans for several years.  Check them out at http://www.coloradoacoustic.com/SkansonandHansen.html
This is one of the guitars that Darren played.  What a beautiful instrument.
