Bridgeport, Texas
This picture was taken out the back window of the camper. The squirrels drove my dogs nuts.
We drove to Thackerville OK to visit the WinStar Casino. It was very nice with lots of penny slot machines. Kay and I also enjoyed the drive up to the casino.
The next three pictures are of the outside of the parking garages at the WinStar. I thought it was a very clever concept to do the buildings in this style.
Kay said since we were in Texas, we had to get pictures of the longhorn cows.
We got really tired of being stressed out over problems with our old truck so while in Bridgeport we made the decision to look for a new truck. Mike Wheat, Kay and Marty standing along side of the new truck. Mike was the salesman, what a wonderful person he was. His wife was a dog groomer, so we had her do Max and Zoe while we were there. She did one of the best grooming jobs the dogs have had in a long time. Mike paid for one of the dogs grooming. Thought that was very nice of him.
I put up the bird feeder behind the camper. Got this cardinal while he was eating.
Female cardinal
This young deer was crossing the road on the way out of the campground. It still had some of its spots.
Unloading the kayaks at Lake Bridgeport.
A couple of friends from the campground went with us.
Under the highway bridge.
The water was very calm the day we kayaked.
Great Blue Heron
The clam shells were huge. The big one was about 6 inches across.
Wise County Heritage Museum, in Decatur, Texas. Kay and I toured the museum and found may interesting things inside.
There is one room dedicated to the Members of the famed Lost Battalion. Men of the 131st Field Artillery and the survivors of the U.S.S.Huston, CA-30 who were P.O.W's of the Japanese for three and one-half years during WWII. They built the railroad that let to the bridge over the River Kwai. Most of the men of the 131st are from Wise County TX.
The Woody Cabin, built by Mr. Sam Woody. The cabin, built in Wise County in 1854, is reported to be the first built in the county.
I found this lock on the door of the Woody Cabin to be very unique.
We found this cat wandering around the cabin. Maybe it is a guard cat.
Wise County Courthouse, Decatur, Texas 1895. There are so many beautiful old courthouse buildings in Texas.
The Main Courtroom.
Kay and I meet Tom Goller and his wife Diane for lunch at restaurant in Decatur. They live in Frisco, TX which was about 30 miles from Decatur. We had a good time talking and eating.
The new truck all hooked up and ready for it first towing.
