Oregon, Lincoln City Sept 17 - 22

Chinook Bend RV Resort, Lincoln City, Oregon  The campground is along side the Siletz River.
There are mostly fisherman camped here.  The Siletz River is very good for salmon fishing.  We did find a very nice casino here and went several times.

Kay and the dogs doing the beach walk,

Maxwell making new friends on the beach.
Kay and I kayaked  the Siletz River from the campground to the bridge on Hwy 101 that is by the bay.  It was a easy trip going with the tide.
The river was not very wide in places, and the boats fishing were almost side by side across the whole river looking for the salmon.

There were many old logs along the river.  This was a major logging river in the old days.

This Blue Heron spent most of his time on the dock.  I think his wing was hurt.
Some one had planted a lot of flowers along this bank of the river.
This is a typical scene along the river.
We found three otters playing on one of the docks.  We got to watch them for a long time before they went into the river.  What a happy animals they are.
Ducks on a log.
This is part of the old logging piers.  Kay thought it would be an interesting picture, and I agreed.
We like this picture.
One of the seals we saw on the river.
Colors are started to change.  good thing we are going south.
You can see the bridge for Hwy 101 in the background.  The ocean is just beyond the bridge.
Kay's flowers, a must for each stop.
This gull looks like she is in a nest, but it is an old wood pier with grass growing on top of it.  Guess it would make a good nest anyway.  Who knows.
Happy kayaker
This is a picture of our friends Dick and Barbara Borden.  We met them at a restaurant in Pearblossom, California about 10 years ago.  We were on our way to see Michelle and her family.  Anyway we have kept in contact with each other ever since.  We finally got to be in the same area at the same time and had a good dinner with them.  Hope it will not take another 10 years to get to see them again.
