Pioneer Beach RV Resort, located on Mustang Island in Port Aransas, TX. We got to the park from Corpus Christi by crossing a bridge but left using the ferry from Port Aransas. From the campground we could walk right to the beach. The dogs loved it and so did we. We liked it so much we're considering coming back to this campground next year for November and December.

A boat load of guys getting ready to go duck hunting. There were bunches of them headed out to overnight in the dunes.
This is our camping neighbor George. He taught me how to surf fish in the Gulf Mexico. |
This is my big catch of the day. They call them crokers, because when you hold them they crock like a frog. |
Sitting and waiting for the ferry to unload so we can get on and cross over to Aransas Pass. |
One of the many helpers on the ferry. The ferry system sure employees a lot of people to keep it going 24/7. |
Looking back at the docking port we just left. |
One of the ferries that was going back to the dock. It only takes about 15 min to get loaded and reach the other side. There were a lot of dolphins swimming in the channel along side the ferry. |

We met Tom and Nancy at the campground. They like to kayak also. There is a kayaking trail on the west side of Mustang Island in Corpus Christi Bay. |
Nancy telling me to get a fish this big. |
We think this guy is netting bait shrimp and fish for sale. |
Another day of fun fishing from my kayak. I do love it so. |
Striped Bass, too small to keep. But at least I got a fish. |
One of the air boats on the bay. boy are they ever noisy. |
Blue Crab |
Great Blue Heron |
Great Egret |

The bird on the left is a Tricolored Heron, the one on the right is a Little Blue Heron. |
