Olympia, Washington
This is the launch point on the Black River. This river had a very slow current, so we will also kayak back to this point.
The river at this point was not very wide.
This will be an easy kayak trip. We will go down the river for about 2 hours and than come back.
There were many lily pads in this part of the river.
I don't think this beaver dam is doing much good.
Kay taking her time paddling down the river.
The shoreline was covered with a lot of grass and trees. The road was not that far away but we couldn't see it at all.
Waiting for Kay to catch up to me.
This was the widest part of the river.
The old bridge pilings made for an interesting picture.
Of course, Kay found flowers.
We did pass a couple of guys fishing.
On the way back up river the wind was at our backs. I used my shirt to make a sail. It did not work too well. Will have to get a real sail someday.
Grilled pork chops for supper.
One night we went to the South Sound Speedway in Rochester WA. These little cars are called Legends. They were very fast little cars, and fun to watch.
There were many of the mini stock cars racing this night. Lots of crashes and spin outs made for a great night at the track.
Got to take this shot of the pit area.
This is Nicole, she and her family sat by us.
