Colorado, Blue Mesa Ranch, Gunnison Aug 29 - Sept 12

Blue Mesa Ranch, a Western Horizon campground west of Gunnison, CO about 10 miles.   This is our Western Horizons home park, we've had a lot of good times here.

When we're in this area one of our favorite things to do is take a drive to Mt Crested Butte and into the mountains above it.  This year we missed the summer flowers and the aspen have not yet changed color but it's still a beautiful drive.

The dogs love it here too, we tried to keep them dry but it didn't work.

We did see the start of some Fall color.

Look close there is a bee down in this bud.

Had to look hard for this color.

Flowers outside the Crested Butte visitor center

Crested Butte City hall.

There was an art market downtown the day we were there and a group of naturalists had a booth with a few birds.  We both really liked this screech owl.

This guy is a peregrine falcon.

A look at the street fair in Crested Butte, Colorado

The cloud formations have been so beautiful this summer.
Thought it was just Wyoming but here they are in Colorado too.

Every Labor Day weekend Blue Mesa Ranch RV park sponsor's a luau.  We were just relaxing enjoying the day.

Marty's just waiting for a photo opp.

White-lined Sphinx Hummingbird Moths
This picture I got off the Internet, to show how interesting they are.
These next few pictures we took of the hummingbird moths at the adult clubhouse just a few feet away from our RV.

This is one of the sunrise pictures Marty took.
Getting up this early in the morning was something new for him.
It was sad to see the water level being down 72 feet.
The lake was so low, it made the Gunnison River almost impossible to kayak.
Fred and Carmen.  Fred had a very nice boat.  I sure did enjoy fishing with him.
Not a bad day of fishing.
This is a nice bunch of fish.  Marty got the six big ones, and Fred got the other two.
Fred cleaning one of the many fish we got.
Fred and his friend Carmen. It was fun fishing with both of them, even if it rained all day.

Colorado, Chatfield State Park Aug 20 - 29

Chatfield State Park near Littleton, Colorado.  We spent nine days relaxing here before we get back to our travels.  A few more dinners with the kids and some last doctor appointments.  Dick and Bonnie Kotrba moved with us to Chatfield but we were all so busy we didn't get to spend much time together.

More great photos from Marty's new camera.  This was the August Blue Moon.

Kay and the dogs enjoying the beautiful night at Chatfield State park.

Roxborough State park is just a few miles south of Chatfield.  It is so pretty here with the beautiful red rock formations.

The reason we're at Roxborough is to listen to the wonderful guitar music of these two men.  Greg Hansen on the left and Darren Skanson on the right.  We've been going to Darren's concerts at Roxborough Park for probably 10 years or so as well as other venues when possible.

Darren has been playing benefit concerts to benefit The Friends of Roxborough organization for many years.  It's generally held on the 3rd Sunday of August.

We've also attended music events at Nissi's in Lafayette, Co.

It rained a bit while we were at the concert but we didn't mind we came prepared.

Sure love this youngest Granddaughter of ours.

Gabby is such a sweet girl.

Grandpa and his little girls after a nice breakfast.

Zoe checking out Uriah.  Jessica was probably telling grandpa to put away the camera.

Just relaxing with his puppies.

Our oldest grandchild Steven showing off his new tattoo.  He was in California on vacation and got the tattoo their.

Trevor not that happy about the camera either.

Jessica waiting for dinner

Steven helping his Mom get the steaks off the grill.  Yumm they sure were good.

Taking a walk around the park.

You should have heard Zoe screaming at these prairie dogs.

There sure seemed to be a large concentration of magpies in the park.
