Arizona, Surprise, Happy Trails Resort Jan 1 - 31

Happy Trails RV Resort, Surprise, AZ  We got here on the 15th of Dec to set up and then almost immediately started loading the car for our trip to Denver.  Happy Trails RV Resort is very big,  over 3000 sites.  They even have their own post office and zip code. Our friends Bob and Irmie Mitchell also are staying here in Happy Trails for the winter.  Also the Kotrba's, the friends we traveled with in Canada this past summer, have a home about 7 miles away.

There are lots of things to do here.  I play poker two times a week.  Have not won any money yet, but it is still a lot of fun.  Made lots of new friends also.  The only bad thing is not much water to kayak.

Looking down our street at Happy Trails at the rainbow.
The lot we have is big enough to park three rigs.
Kay and Bonnie at the New Year's Eve party in the clubhouse here in the RV park.
Irmie and her mother Rose partying.
Mart and Bob I have no idea what Bob is doing.
A view of Lake Pleasant.  I went with Dick move his pontoon boat out there from it's summer storage.
One of the marinas on the lake.
Michelle and Sam and the family came to Happy Trails to visit us on their way back to Santa Clarita.  This is Kiah and Kaden playing with their new I-phones.
Maxwell still in bed.
Michelle, Sam, Kaden, Kiah, and Bridger all slept in the living room.
One of the many Coyotes that  roam the park.  This picture was taken out the back window of the camper.
I drove to Buckeye  to see Melissa Grunewald ride in the barrel races.  She lives in British Columbia.

Salt River north east of Surprise, AZ  We took a drive up there to see if there was enough water to kayak.  Maybe in the spring there will be.
The river sure is cool .
We went to an RV show at the University of Phoenix stadium. The AZ Cardinals play here.
Lunch with Bob and Irmie after going to the RV show at the stadium.
We took the dogs for a hike up on White Tank Mountain.  It is about 15 miles from Happy Trails.
There were many pictographs along the way
Maxwell got tired of walking so Kay had to carry him.  Zoe is in my arms at the same time.
Lots of saguaro cactus along the trail

Kay and her Birthday cake.
She said she was glad to turn 65. Now she can go on Medicare.
This is the birthday dinner I fixed her.  I even gave her half of my hot dog.  I was such a good guy to do that for her.
